Ali used this jump rope to train for his fight against Foreman on October 30, 1974 in Zaire, Africa. Ali used the jump rope to perfect his foot speed, one of his extraordinary skills in the ring, one for which he became famous. Ali defeated Foreman with an 8th round knock-out and regained his heavyweight title. The leather jump rope includes the original tape used to give Ali a better hold on the handles during two months of training in the African heat. "Ali" is written in black pen on the bottom of the jump rope handle.
