Steve first became interested in boxing from his Grandfather, who was a big fight fan, and he began collecting Muhammad Ali memorabilia as a youngster, back in 1968. By the mid ‘70s, he was such an enthusiastic fan of Ali that he’d drive to Ali’s training camp in Deerlake, Pennsylvania just hoping for a glimpse of the Champ. His efforts paid off, and photos from the first time he ever met Ali in Deerlake are a part of his personal collection. |

For years, Steve got together with Ali on a fairly regular basis. They traveled to the same sports shows all over the country, and they came to know each other quite well. Through the years, Steve’s collection, the largest for sale anywhere in the world, has grown to include items from every phase of Ali’s career, including trunks and equipment the great heavyweight actually wore in the ring and during training. |

| As a result of Steve’s expertise and his relationship with Ali, Muhammad Ali's long time agent and owner of Online Authentics hired him to authenticate several vintage autographs, and items (gloves, trunks, headgear, robes, tickets, posters, programs) that had belonged to Drew "Bundini" Brown and were used by Ali. In addition, the UpperDeck Company purchased directly from Steve the equipment that was used for their exclusive Upper Deck Muhammad Ali Master Collection set of fight-used trading cards. Over the years, Steve has also authenticated items for private collectors, and has been hired by several auction houses to authenticate Ali memorabilia and provide written descriptions of those items for their auction catalogs. Steve has had a considerable amount of TV exposure, as well. He provided the memorabilia that both HBO and CNBC used to produce TV specials about Ali. And Bill Evans of the Channel 7 morning news program did a feature about Steve and his collection just a few years ago. | ||||||||

Still an avid boxing fan, Steve often volunteers his time at the local P.A.L. where he helps to train youngsters who’d like nothing better than to follow in Ali’s footsteps. |
