Item # PS-3958
$12,000.00 |
Designed by Armando Testa, the winner of a 1957 contest for artists of Italian nationality to design a poster intended to promote and exalt the Games of the XVII Olympics. Two contests were held before the judges were able to select a winner whose entry met their requirements. Though Testa won the second competition, some modifications were made to his design. The brown / gold / white poster depicts the epitome of a triumphant athlete, crowning himself with his right hand while holding the palm of victory in his left hand. 27 x 39". Linen-backed. Mint condition.
