Wonder was just 13 years old when he posed with Clay in San Francisco, December 1963. Wonder had made his Motown recording debut just one year earlier, and would go on to win 25 Grammys plus the 2009 Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, the nation's highest honor for pop music. Clay eventually changed his name to Muhammad Ali and become the world heavyweight boxing champion three times and one of the most beloved figures in American history.
