Vintage Muhammad Ali Memorabilia for Everyone's Budget! The Original Battle of New Orleans Medallion Custom Minted for Ali/Spinks II September 15, 1978.
A great piece for starting collectors because it's so affordable. A great piece for long-time collectors, too, because it's so rare. I've never seen one of these medallions before. To tell you the truth, I'd say this is our biggest find ever!
The medallion was custom minted to commemorate the second Ali/Spinks fight when Ali won his heavyweight title back for a record third time. The 1¼" medallion is richly plated in genuine 24kt. gold, and hangs from a 23" chain. There's a facsimile of Ali's autograph on the front, and on the back, one of Ali's favorite prayers before entering the ring. Written in Arabic, it translates to "If God gives you victory, no one can defeat you". A picture of the Superdome and "Ali the Greatest versus Spinks the Latest" are also incorporated into the design.
Remember, this is a vintage medallion, custom minted and sold at the fight in 1978. It's still packaged in its original plastic pouch! I'd like you to have one for your collection. It'll frame up beautifully, or look sharp hanging next to a poster or print from the fight. Don't wait! These are priced to sell!
